Okay, I might still have a little glitter in my eyes from Superman (2025). This movie felt like the superhero film my heart actually wanted: full of emotion, action-packed scenes, swoony feelings, and a musical vibe that hit different.

First off: the romance. David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan’s chemistry as Clark and Lois is goals. I grew up watching comic book movies with my dad (that early 2000s fandom, road-tripping to the theater, buzzing about every cameo) and I’ve waited years for a Superman who can actually feel and love. This one delivers. Lois is fiery, Clark is earnest, and the way they bounce off each other? Giddy alert

Let’s talk music, because it matters. John Murphy and David Fleming weave in John Williams’ iconic 1978 Superman March (talk about nostalgia). It’s grand, orchestral, and when it hits...chills. And the film scores? Even if some reviewers thought the music dipped into generic territory at points, I just felt… emotionally centered. That fight sequence featuring Mr. Terrific and Lois synced to a badass track? Dare I put that song in my indoor-cycling playlist? I can match the BPMs easy peasy. Here is the link to the song if you are curious: https://open.spotify.com/track/1KlDcHrlDPUJJPmMup3tUp?si=59639062c1684a45

As for DC movies before this… let’s be honest. From the somber slog of Man of Steel to the fragmented mashups of the DCEU, I know I’m not the only one who left some of those feeling defeated. Superman (2025), by contrast, is like stepping into the sunlight. Fun, hopeful, heartfelt - even with its over-the-top moments, it strikes that balance between cornball comfort and real emotional payoff. However, don't worry Henry Cavill... you are my still my crush.

Personal sidebar: My dad and I love our big comic-book moments. Those late night premieres, laughing over corny lines, trying to debate Easter eggs… it’s core to who I am. Watching this renewal of Superman felt like opening a time capsule. Because here’s the truth: we didn't just go to see heroes in capes. We went for the feelings, the shared smiles, the stories that let us believe in something bigger. When my dad took me to see my very first Marvel movie, Thor (2011), in California over $1 hot dogs, I stood up and applauded. I was 🤏 close to doing it again.

Bottom line: Superman (2025) didn’t just save Metropolis - it rescued audiences from cynicism, one adorable Krypto bark at a time. Go see it with someone you love. Let the feels hit. Let yourself believe - like the soundtrack, like the romance, like that little kid in the theater with her dad all over again.
